1New Orleans Saints

Founded in 1967, the New Orleans Saints are a team based in New Orleans, Louisiana, as a member of the league’s National Football Conference South division. The name “Saints” refers to the day the team was founded that is November 1 being All Saints Day in the Catholic faith. More importantly, New Orleans has a large Catholic population. The team was barely competitive over most of their first years and things have gradually changed since 1987 when they were qualified for the NFL playoffs for the first time in their history. In 2009 season, they even appeared in Super Bowl XLIV and won over the AFC champion Indianapolis Colts, which is also their only Super Bowl championship.

2Los Angeles Chargers:

Established in 1959, Los Angeles Chargers are based in the Greater Los Angeles Area, as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference West division. It became the San Diego Chargers when it moved to San Diego in 1961 and then returned to Los Angeles for the 2017 season. The Chargers won one AFL title in 1963 and reached the AFL playoffs five times and the AFL Championship four times before joining the NFL. The team currently plays their host games in Dignity Health Sports Park, Carson, California.

3Saints vs. Chargers 19 : 17

The New Orleans Saints rallied in the second half to defeat the Los Angeles Chargers 19-17 on Sunday at Dignity Health Sports Park although they trailed 17-3 at halftime. After a week of practice in New Orleans, the Saints will go to New York on Friday to compete against Jets in MetLife Stadium.

4Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks, founded in 1974 is based in Seattle, Washington as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference West Division. Seahawks fans referred as the “12th man” ”12s”, have twice set the Guinness World Record for the loudest crowd noise at a sporting event, reaching 136.6 decibels and 137.6 decibels respectively. Since 2002, they have played their home games at CenturyLink Field, located south of downtown Seattle.

5Minnesota Vikings

Established in 1960 and based in Minneapolis Minnesota, the Vikings joined the National Football League as an expansion team in 1960 and competes in the NFC North division. The team plays its home games at U.S. Bank Stadium in the Downtown East section of Minneapolis. As an expansion franchise, this team then got Division championships twenty times and Conference championships four times. In 1969, they also got a league championship prior to the merger of the NFL with the AFL.

6Seahawks vs. Vikings 19-25

The Vikings won their second straight preseason game on Sunday night at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Seahawks got good performance in all three phases at the beginning, especially when the starters were in the game. However, their reserves were quite unsatisfying, resulting in a 25-19 loss to Minnesota. The highlights in this game include Devante Downs, the linebacker in Minnesota Vikings, intercepts a pass from Seattle Seahawks quarterback J.T. Barrett.

7Dallas Cowboys

Established in 1960 and based in the Dallas- Fort Worth metroplex, the Dallas Cowboys competes in NFL as a member club of the League’s NFC East division. The team plays its home games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Their streak of 190 consecutive sold-out regular and post-season games indicates their national popularity. The Cowboys have also made it to the Super Bowl eight times and won five of them, being the second most Super Bowl appearances in history. Besides, the Cowboys are the only NFL team to record 20 straight winning seasons (1966–85), in which they missed the playoffs only twice (1974 and 1984). It is also the first sports team to be valued at $4 billion, being the most valuable sports team in the world, according to Forbes.

8Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams, founded in 1936, is based in Los Angeles, California as a member club of the NFC West division and has won three NFL championships representing three cities, Cleveland in 1945, Los Angeles in 1951, and St. Louis in 1999, which is the only one to do that. The Rams play their home games at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

9Cowboys vs. Rams 14-10

This is the Cowboys’ first win of preseason with Rookie running back Tony Pollard’s 14-yard touchdown run ending a 12-play series, 14-10 victory over LA Rams. The Cowboys will resume practice on Tuesday and host the Houston Texans in their third preseason game next Saturday at AT&T Stadium.

10Kansas Chiefs

Established in 1959, the Kanas City Chiefs took its first season in 1960 as a charter member of the AFL. The Chiefs compete in the NFL as a member club of the league’s AFC West division and headquartered in Arrowhead Stadium Kansas City, Missouri. They have won AFL championships three times, in 1962, 1966, and 1969. The Chiefs defeated an NFL team, the Minnesota Vikings in an AFL-NFL World Championship Game, being the second AFL team to make it. This victory is also their last championship game victory and appearance to date and they are struggling to find success in the playoffs. The team is valued at over $2 billion now.

11Pittsburgh Steelers

Established in 1933, the Steelers are the oldest franchise in the AFC and compete in the NFL as a member club of the league’s AFC North division. The Steelers never won a league championship before the merger while they become one of the most successful NFL franchises in the post-merger era by getting the most Super Bowl titles along with the New England Patriots and winning AFC championships eight times. They have also made the second most Super Bowl appearances. The team took its original name from the baseball team of the same name, which was pretty common for NFL teams at the time. They now play their host games in Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

12Chiefs vs. Steelers 7-17

The Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday night during the second week of preseason. The Chiefs had the edge over the Steelers in the first half thanks to the excellent performance of rookie cornerback Herb Miller and Charvarius Ward. Pittsburgh eventually reclaimed the lead, however, they turned the tables over 12 minutes left in the final quarter of play.

13New England Patriots

Founded in 1959, the New England Patriots play its home games at Gillette Stadium in the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts since 2002 and takes part in the NFL as a member club of the league’s AFC East division. The Patriots have become one of the most successful teams in NFL history with 16 AFC East titles as part of 18 consecutive winning seasons since 2001. The team owns the record for most Super Bowl appearance and wins and has also set many other notable records, such as most wins in a ten-year period, the longest winning streak including regular season and playoff games in NFL history and so on.

14Tennessee Titans

Established in 1959, the Tennessee Titans takes part in the NFL as a member club of the AFC South division. They won the first two AFL Championships during the time when they were still known as the Houston Oilers. Then they changed their name to Tennessee Oilers when they moved to Tennessee from Huston in 1997 and finally made their name Tennessee Titans for the 1999 season. They also appeared in the Super Bowl this year and fell to St. Louis Rams, which is the only appearance for them. The team currently plays their home games in Nissan Stadium in Nashville after they played in Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium and Vanderbilt Stadium.

15Patriots vs. Titans 22-17

The Patriots played mostly backups in a 22-17 win over the Titans in preseason game No.2 on Saturday night at Nissa Stadium in Nashville. Both the rookies and veterans of the Patriots performed very well in this game.
